Maher Accountancy manages the back-office accounting function for several Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) electricity providers distributing a cleaner energy alternative to millions of homes and businesses throughout California. The Senior Accountant role will have responsibilities across several clients.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead monthly accounting close (prepare journal entries, workpapers, reconciliations, documentation etc.)
• Oversee Accounts Payable process
• Bank reconciliations
• Main point of contact with client for general accounting related questions
• Client contract and budget management

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting experience is highly desired
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Strong analytical and accounting skills with understanding of US GAAP
• Attention to detail, high-level of personal excellence and accountability, and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
• Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize effectively to deliver results within reasonably established timelines
• Ability to communicate (verbal and written) up and down the organization, from individuals and department leads
• Proficiency in Excel (i.e. understands the difference between index&match, xlookup, and sumifs)
• Ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Proficiency with QBO and Quickbooks Desktop.
• Familiarity with B.I. tools (Tableau, PowerBI, SQL, etc) is a plus
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
